Lately I have been
paying attention to
News, reading
articles on Human
Events, and The
Drudge Report on the
economy, etc.
Although I studied
Political Science
when I first arrived
in the United
States, I never
felt inclined to
learn more about
politics, nor was I
interested in who’s
making what
decisions that may
affect my everyday
life.
“Why should I? I am
above all that… I
call on my guardian
angels everyday, I
am loving,
compassionate,
generous and have a
strong Faith that
everything will be
taken care of for
me.” I am not alone
in this for this
seems to be a common
way of thinking for
the majority of the
people here in
California.
Unfortunately this
may also have been a
major factor in
bringing this
golden state to
the brink of
bankruptcy.
One thing comes to
mind… we all have
forgotten to be
truthful to
ourselves. The one
time
“little-white-lies”
that were thought to
be harmless at the
time, got out of
hand. Here is an
example… let’s say
an honest couple
fell in love with a
house, but had
insufficient income
to pay the monthly
mortgage. A very
delightful real
estate agent wanted
to help them as well
as their mortgage
broker, so something
or someone in the
party had to agree
to make some
“adjustments” - a
little white lie
that involved
numbers. The process
worked and they got
their house. But
now, this couple,
and others like
them, are in danger
of losing their
home.
We had gotten used
to “finding ways to
make it work”, it
became our natural
way of doing things,
and so on and so
forth… It became
fashionable to
outspend our
neighbors, our
coworkers, our
friends, regardless
of what the
consequences might
be.
The “Reality of the
Now” has become
apparent, and to
most of us, it is
rather grim. So we
turned to the “Power
of Hope”.
From the Mountain
Astrologer Magazine
article, “Camelot
or Economic
Armageddon?” by
Raymond Merriman, a
well-respected
financial astrologer
and stockbroker, I
quote, “The case for
Camelot is
present in the
dreamlike, fairytale
signature of Jupiter
conjunct Neptune in
Aquarius which takes
place May through
December 2009.” But
then, Mr. Merriman
added, “ Astrologers
know that the
qualities of
Jupiter, Neptune and
Uranus can pertain
to immense hope -
and maybe even an
over optimistic
belief- that the
world economic
crises can be
successfully (and
almost all
magically) solved.”

Indeed, the
resultant effects of
the conjunction
between Jupiter and
Neptune have been
commonly interpreted
among astrologers as
stated by Mr.
Merriman. But,
further study of
this aspect will
also show that
escapism,
lawlessness and
irresponsibility are
part of the less
positive side of it.
Now, I wonder if we
will come to realize
that part of the
aspect.
The “Power of Hope”
can be so strong in
us that at times we
forget Hope
implies future
result – but, as a
result of what
though?? There are
many books, spoken
audios, and great
teachers that
promote the power of
hope - I honor them
all but, I believe
this time around a
good dose of
practicality is what
we all need.
