For those of us
who attempt to
walk on the
“Holier than
Thou” path, this
is a great
reminder.
Indeed, it is
ironic to hear
different views
about climate
changes, the
rivalry between
the major
political
parties and
about the war in
Iraq coming from
spiritual gurus,
mediums,
astrologers and
others. But, one
thing I have
noticed… the
majority of
these views are
somewhat
lopsided with a
strong
indication of
hatred towards
this country and
the people in
it. For some
reason, we want
to forget that
the bad guys
blew up this
country first,
several times,
before
retaliation was
initiated.
Before 9/11,
there was the
USS Cole, the
bombing of
several US
Embassies, the
bombing of
Marine Barracks
in both Saudi
Arabia and
Lebanon, and
many other
attacks on the
United States
that we seem to
prefer not to
remember.
So I pulled a
couple of books
related to my
favored subject,
Tao Te Ching. I
always find it
comforting to
use as a tool
for
understanding
why things are
they way they
are. Combined
with astrology
tendencies, I
try to form my
own opinion,
with the
complete
understanding
that everyone
have the same
rights to
express their
own minds.
One of the most
common topics I
hear discussed
is the ending of
the Mayan
Calendar in 2011
or 2012,
planetary
aspects for
radical changes
which began in
2003, in our
religious
structures are
indicated.
Uranus, the
planet of
revolution and
Neptune, the
planet of
dissolution, are
supportive of
each other to
make this event
happen. Because
of this
planetary
influence,
there’s an
implication of a
greater
understanding of
what is divinity
to each
individual,
perhaps a
recollection of
the spiritual
practices that
may have been
hidden for a
long time, and
the freedom to
worship their
own definition
of GOD.
Unfortunately,
I’m ill informed
of the Mayan
Calendar, its
correlation to
the said
changes, and why
it stops in
2012. (Maybe
they ran out of
rocks to carve,
who knows?)
Uranus moving
into the sign of
Aries in 2011 is
indicative of a
new evolutionary
cycle, while
Neptune
traversing
between Aquarius
and Pisces in
2012, signals a
completion of
the human soul
evolutionary
cycle. This is
one possible
astrological
correlation to
the Mayan
Calendar. The
word HIDDEN is
something I want
to emphasize
here – it’s the
nature of
Neptune, in the
sign of Aquarius
- the pursuit by
the public to
uncover the
TRUTH? Could
this be related
to some
atrocities that
seldom make the
news here in the
West, (the
square aspect
between Mars in
Taurus and
Neptune in
Aquarius) which
would be hard to
swallow? Like,
the unearthing
of
slaughtered
bodies in
villages in Iraq?
And, how about
a dead son’s
body, being
served roasted,
for dinner to
his parents??
I bet you the
parents didn’t
say, “Bon
Appétit” did
they? Now,
shouldn’t these
incidents maybe…
just maybe, help
us clarify in
our minds as to
who are the bad
guys?
My dilemma is
the idea that to
put the world in
order, we must
first put the
nation in order;
to put the
nation in order,
we must put the
family in order,
to put the
family in order,
we must
cultivate our
personal life;
and to cultivate
our personal
life, we must
set our hearts
right.”
–Confucius, BC
551–479
So where do we
begin? Do we set
our hearts to
blame the
politicians?
Wouldn’t it be
arrogant to
think that this
country has the
only politicians
making all these
mistakes? Hmmm!
I believe it’s
pernicious for
the spiritual
gurus, the
pious, to claim
that they have
the full and
only knowledge
on how to solve
these problems
when they are
not the ones to
make the
decisions. It is
regrettable that
sometimes
weapons must be
used when
survival demands
it. But when
pain, death and
destruction are
visited upon
what you hold to
be most sacred,
the spiritual
price is
devastating.
What hurts more
than one’s own
suffering is
bearing witness
to the suffering
of others. The
regret of seeing
human beings at
their worst and
the sheer pain
of not being
able to help the
victims can
never be
redeemed.
"Be
careful not to
become so
heavenly that
you are useless
on earth.”
