What’s New?
I trust we all had a fabulous
Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. At my home I did
all the cooking. John has resigned as the cook after 33
years of doing it during our family’s special occasions:
Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. He’s now officially
drawing Social Security, so does he think he’s entitled to
quit the cooking job??
Darn! I had to reassure the kids that they’re safe. I was
under Grandpa’s supervision especially on the family’s
traditional baked oyster.
Moving on… Christmas is fast
approaching folks, and I say Happy Yuletide Season!
Am I allowed to say that? Nowadays we never know
anymore how to greet one another for this special occasion.
It seems like people have been inundated lately with so many
ideas of what’s fair and compassionate that I can only hope
that our perception of it will not cost the future of our
children and grandchildren, or cost any more precious lives
like the recent Fort Hood incident. I personally believe
that compassion means to accept the individual for who they
are as a spirit in a physical body, and not |
necessarily accepting their harmful
deeds. There is a difference. I should say, now is the time
to call a spade for what it is, a spade.
I finally transplanted my Rosemary
plant from a five-galloon into a fifteen-gallon pot. She has
grown to almost five feet high. Her cone-shaped body is full
and thick, and has been maintained all this time – since my
friend Nancy gave her to me on Christmas six years ago.
Rosemary has given us pleasure as mini Christmas tree in the
last three holiday seasons now. She will need a bigger space
in the living room this year. There’s also extra touch
besides her fragrance, she’s also blooming right now.
Speaking of plants… my green pepper
never stopped producing, and the tomato plants are blooming
again, plenty of them. I see little bitty tomatoes peaking
through, but I thought they’re out of the season now!
Whatever… I’m pleased about it especially when I see the
price of tomatoes in the grocery. Mother Nature gifts will
always be appreciated! |
Santa has been over at my home
a little early this year. A generous mother and daughter who
have been taking classes from me for about a year now are
gifting me a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity – a trip to
Ireland with them that includes a month (?) stay in a
five-star hotel during the holidays! Wow! Thank you, Pam!
Thank you, Enjoli! I am honored. I regret the timing would
be impossible for me to travel far away from home just yet –
some personal concerns. But, I do appreciate their kind and
generous offer. It had truly moved me!
More about generosity… one morning last week
another friend, Anita, brought a couple
laptops, to see if we can make use of them –
she just bought herself a brand new one.
Again, wow! Thanks, Anita! When it rains, it
pours, folks! John is now installing all my
astrology and cardology programs in one of
them – perfect to carry for when I do
classes or readings outside my home. Very
exciting! Thanks Santa!
