In astrology, it is believed
that when conditions in life radically change with some
elements of violence and disaster present, you can ascertain
of Uranus’ footprints. It is an outer planet; its orbit
around the sun takes years to complete- true with Neptune
and Pluto as well. Their movements are notable in that they
mark historical civilization changes, most especially when
these planets happened to be in a cardinal sign: Aries,
Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
Uranus was discovered in 1781,
possessing nature similar to Mercury with its nervous and mental
impact, but much more powerful, fanatical, and volatile. It
represents the Higher Will of man to be liberated, and the urge
for freedom from constricted conditions in our civilizations.
Uranus’ force shakes us loose; it is disruptive and destroys the
old, to make room for the new. It brings revolution,
individualism, rebellion and well as experimentation, invention
and originality.
Uranus
stays in one sign for about 7+ years so it takes at least 84
years for this planet to travel through the 12 zodiac signs,
from Aries to Pisces. Since May 2010 Uranus has been transiting
through the sign of Aries, which will continue until 2018. Just
for a quick review, when the last time Uranus was in Aries it
was in the 1930s- during the Great Depression.
This was also the time period
when a major upheaval was occurring in the form of governments
in Europe and Asia that led to the start of WWII. Pluto was
also forming a difficult relationship (square aspect) with
Uranus then; and events were occurring that are eerily somewhat
similar to what is happening in our present condition. But there
is a difference however, this time there is a waxing square
aspect, which means Uranus has the upper hand in the
‘relationship’ over Pluto. This means that there’s a new
awareness to the abuses, the wastes, and questionable integrity
of the masses that is sorely needed to be uprooted (Pluto).
Consequently, the blame is less directed on Pluto, the
Power-To-Be. In return, Uranus’ has total freedom to breakdown
anything standing in its way to bring forth new fresh ideology.
It is said that Uranus has
affinities with Aquarius. Mundane astrology assigns Saturn as
Aquarius’ traditional ruler, and Uranus as co-ruler. It
represents eccentric and unusual people; many of them are
bohemian, futuristic and intellectual individuals. Similar to
Mercury, Uranus is neutral or sexless. Astrologers consider
Uranus to be a higher octave of Mercury. It stands for occult
knowledge because it represents that which is hidden from common
knowledge.
In the individual’s natal chart, it
is more important to understand the meaning of the house where
Uranus is posited than the sign.
In human physical anatomy, Uranus
governs the higher nervous system, body electricity and the
ankles. It is also related to the circulation of the blood. Its
color is Prussian blue and rules uranium.
Uranus Blessings!
