The social networking keeps us busy, Facebook is going through re-adjustments with their stockholders, etc… that’s about Gemini. Information, curiosity, the news are among Gemini’s rulership. It represents the readiness to talk, connect and learn with and from others. This New Moon is also a solar eclipse urging us to go back to the drawing board, edit, and finish our old projects before starting a new one. Choices! Choices! Do I want gold… how about purple… which one is more fragrant? Gemini is the Lovers card in the tarot deck, and may be translated as “choices of attraction”. With this New Moon, Solar Eclipse, old relationships or attractions may resurface once again. He or she must see the choices being presented clearly. Never forget… Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.

Venus in Gemini starts its retrograde process on May 15^th, and ends it on June 27^th, 2012. It is time to re-assess our goals, values and relationships. Delayed satisfaction with new ideas or new connections are usually the result of Venus in retrograde. Friends, lovers, and people of the past may show up and reconnect once again.

Venus is the planet of love, beauty, and magnetism. While it is retrograde, expressions of love, beauty and pleasure are articulated with a strong awareness of the necessity for “give and take” practices. Love related activities will be heavily discussed in detail, particularly in those relationships that are currently complex. There will be a lot to think about in regard to what we love, who we love, and how we love. The question now is, how much are we willing to commit to the things and people that we cherish?

The Venus retrograde period starts at 23 degrees and will finish at 7 degrees mark on June 27, 2012. This is the time that teaches us the importance of NOT trying to control our pursuits of pleasures. So, hang in there, lovers… this is simply about learning how to communicate our love and affection.

We are approaching the last quarter Moon in Aquarius tomorrow, May 12, 2012. This brings our focus to humanitarian efforts. A sympathetic ear and compassionate word can unite people even in their most adversarial ideology- if we give open-mindedness a chance. Emotional healing is within our reach, peace is welcomed. The Moon moving into forgiving Pisces on Sunday at 4:47 a.m. PDT, supported by the Sun-Jupiter conjunction, will encourage belief in a better future. This transit is also supported by a Moon-Neptune conjunction, promoting imaginative and compassionate expression. Big hearts and big hopes are the agenda. But, one weakness of this celestial dance is the possibility of allowing ourselves to be lulled into believing “miracles” can happen without our doing our share.

Meantime, Venus, the planet of love and attraction is moving into retrograde starting May 15-June 27, 2012.

As the Moon reaches its fullness, our emotional patterns are being played out in ways that can be alarming- intensified, for a lack of a better word. For example, we may have to confront waves of unfulfilled feelings, and what provokes them.

In astrology, Scorpio is associated with death and endings- a transition. Not necessary a physical death, but rather an ending of the attachments that our minds hold on to, including who/what we think we are, from identity, beliefs, opinions, social standing, possessions and so on. Nature enthusiasts used to celebrate May Day, known as Beltane, the return of growth and fertility of the earth. This is the height of the spring season, marking the rise of summer and the decline of winter. It was celebrated with a dance of the Maypole, a weaving of many different colors of ribbons held by participants, signifying the sacred union of male and female- a fertility, beauty and rapturous passion rite. And thus affirming the multiplication of human’s existence, and the reassurance for abundant crops and sufficient harvest to survive through the next cycle. May Day is a celebration about the fruition and beauty found in nature.  In a more remote area where I came from, the Philippines, the belief in the spirits of nature or fairies is prevalent. It was not uncommon in our household to talk about the fairy kingdom; they are found in all elements, earth, water, air and fire.

A fun and playful weekend is coming our way, folks! Friday, the security conscious Moon is in a friendly aspect, (sextile) with generous Jupiter in Taurus highlighting optimism and realistic assessment of the future.
Saturday, the Moon enters self-confident Leo, encouraging us to play and entertain with flamboyance, laughter, and be somewhat childlike,  in the appreciation of life. Many will be bold and courageous.  Others will dramatize emotions, exaggerating the need for attention, yet it is heartwarming, and inspiring generosity.
Sunday, the lighthearted feelings will be tempered as the playful Moon in Leo is challenged by pragmatic Sun (in Taurus). Playing it safe is less likely to succeed than taking a calculated risk.
My thoughts… have fun, play, meet interesting people, but let’s also take care of our responsibilities…

April 22^nd, Earth Day is celebrated. We are reminded to honor our relationship to Mother Earth, its beauty and abundance, so too the need to develop a healthy relationship with our own physical body, kinship and all relatedness. This event couldn’t have been better honored to any other sign, but Taurus the first earth sign in the zodiac.

As I was writing this, communication planet Mercury was moving into spontaneous Aries. Minds work overtime, plenty of ideas and words are flying like the speed of light. The next day, April 17, the Moon will be void-of-course starting at 7:34 am, all day. April 18, the Moon rushes into Aries, which can shorten our temper and make us impatient. This lunar conjunction to Mars-ruled sign (Aries) with curious Mercury, and later with explosive Uranus, can make these couple of days exciting and volatile. I say, let’s choose our words carefully… This waning Moon in Aries is best used for introspective reflection.

April 19^th, the Sun enters earthy Taurus- it is time to put our feet on the ground. Happy Birthday, Taurus Friends! These individuals love stability and material security. Beauty is second nature to them. Many of them possess a very sensitive and sentimental side that makes them unable to make changes easily. But, there comes a time that we must let go of our attachments…
Expansive Jupiter is currently in Taurus and will move soon into Gemini, June 11, 2012.

Pluto (in Capricorn) is now in reversal movement, since April 10 until September 18. Its influence is not very obvious as it tends to work in the dark. Nevertheless, the message relates to the questions of power, desires and control.
