What’s New?
Happy Independence Day, Folks!
As I was writing this article I
started to realize that this greeting could easily
be changed into “Happy Dependence Day!” The country
seems to be heading that path, the way things look,
right now – Great Spirit, I sure hope not!
Born in the sign of Aries,
independence is one virtue I want to keep for myself
while in the physical body. Sadly, I fell that more
than any other time in my 33 years living in the US,
that the freedom I have so enjoyed is now being
threatened and is about to diminish. Am I only
dreaming all this?
California is now issuing IOU’s to
State employees, now has one with the highest
unemployment rates in the country, and the housing
industry is continuing to dive deeper into
nothingness. Wow! I never thought these changes
could happen so rapidly like this, almost in a blink
of the eye. Don’t we all wish to know more about
what’s going on? - after all, it does affect our
lives.
Like many other disgruntled citizens,
I thought I’d start reading some books (besides
astrology and metaphysics), so John has stocked me
up with some titles to help me get a clearer glimpse
of some of the forces effecting what the country is
going through right now. The stack includes three
of New York Times Bestsellers:
Nineteen Eighty Four,
by George Orwell;
Liberty and Tyranny
by Mark Levin and
Common Sense
(inspired by Thomas Paine) by Glenn Beck. Who
knows? I may also find more correlations with the
planetary influences and their current movements. Am
I aiming too high?
We’ll see…
Getting back to my normal life….
I just had my first vegetables harvest the day after
Summer Solstice. I am amazed how one potted eggplant
can produce so many of them – I picked half a dozen
of them and there were a lot more growing. My
tomatoes will have at least a couple dozen more
ready for picking soon – and are even free from
permanent tenants (bugs). I do brush the plants off
with a small paintbrush everyday so the little
beggars will leave my vegetables alone. There’s a
lot to be said about growing your own vegetables.
The ancients said, the highest spiritual awareness
is through working with Mother Nature, indeed it is.
Have you ever tried talking to plants??

Happy Birthday
Cancer Friends!
June 21st to July 22nd, 2009
by
Marcelina

Most astrologers think of you as the most
subconscious of all signs. What does that mean? That
everything you do, every issue you deal with, is approached
through emotions. You, Cancer friend, live in your feelings
and affections. Your nurturing and sustaining nature gives
you the tenacity to accomplish what you desire, just the way
you want it. Expectations that you should come first with
loved ones, or that you seek sympathy from them, is often
regarded as self-centeredness and selfishness – something
you are unaware of, dear Cancer.
As a cardinal water sign, Cancer individuals
embody the vast power of the ocean. Its symbol is the crab,
carrying its own home as a protective shield from the outer
world.
Of course, you have to. You easily absorb
other peoples’ thoughts and emotions which can make it
difficult for you to distinguish which are yours and which
are belonging to others.
Representing the Cancer sign in the tarot is
The Chariot. The card portrays the Charioteer (the
personality) seemingly trying to CONTROL two horses, of
different colors, pulling the Chariot in two different
directions. The two horses symbolize the conflicting forces
within us, such as the emotions or instincts that can drive
us into upheaval. The Charioteer’s job, sitting in the
driver’s seat, his throne, is to concentrate, to exercise
discipline and wisdom and to discern which path the horses
should be directed to. Like the restless tides of the ocean,
it takes an enormous effort to control your feelings and
emotions.
This year 2009, a solar eclipse on July 7th
and a Lunar Eclipse on December 31st will bring profound
changes to some of you Cancer friends. Use your intuition
and allow the transformation be a welcome process.
Suggestion:
Candles: White
Oil:
Crown of Success
Incense: Frankincense & Myrrh
Prayer:
Mother Goddess, Father God I pray that I,
________ may become truly conscious of everyone and
everything I see and feel. Give me the wisdom to discern my
thoughts and emotions and let me be aware of the radiant
light that is within me. Let my truth shine through me
faithfully and with sincerity. So Shall It Be!
Have a Blessed Birthday!
And…
Keep Sharing the Light!

Full Moon in Capricorn
Lunar Eclipse
July 7th, 2009

by Marcelina
Happy Full Moon Everyone!
This is a full moon that needs special recognition; it urges
us to be practical and cut back on unworkable goals. Finding
balance between career and home life is the keynote here. We
need to focus on completing what had been started two weeks
ago, that which gave us a feeling of a strong foundation,
and not to undermine our ability to handle our
responsibilities. As the saying goes, “the less
responsibility we assume, the less power we have”.
The usual reserved emotions during this full moon in Capricorn will be
heavily challenged due to the lunar eclipse. In some instances, some of
us may act immaturely and can be manipulative in many ways. Others may
try to bite off more than they could chew - our material survival is the
major factor and will come to the forefront to resolve. Focus,
persistence and patience will bring satisfaction to your goals.
This is the second lunar eclipse this year; the first one was in
February 9th. A

The Power Of Hope vs. The
Reality Of The Now
by
Marcelina
Lately I have been paying attention to News,
reading articles on Human Events, and The Drudge Report on
the economy, etc. Although I studied Political Science when
I first arrived in the United States, I never felt inclined
to learn more about politics, nor was interested in who’s
making what decisions that may affect my everyday life.
“Why should I? I am above all that… I call on my
guardian angels everyday, I am loving, compassionate, generous and
have a strong Faith that everything will be taken care of for me.” I
am not alone in this for this seems to be a common way of
thinking for the majority of the people here in California.
Unfortunately this may also have been a major factor in
bringing this golden state to the brink of . . .

Food for Thought
Non-yielding -
A spiritual practitioner uses the metaphor of the
warrior when facing a competition. They never yield to their
opponents; to sidestep is not necessary to give way.
Whatever we do for a living during our earthly life,
we always find ourselves competing against other people, or maybe
just the forces around us. But there’s a wrong way and a correct way
to compete. Use awareness and concentration; avoid greed and anger.
There’s no coincidence that
awareness and concentration is used for spiritual growth. Like a
warrior, the sage spends much time training.

There’s Celestial tap dance, square dance, rumba, you
name it… the sky is loaded. Heavy traffic, indeed, as we enter the
month of July – big stuff!
First, we have the Moon in Scorpio leading the way
creating a rather serious and intense mood. Next, Uranus is going
into retrograde motion starting today, July 1st until December 1st,
2009 - a total of five months. This planet is known to bring chaos
and abrupt changes. During its retrograde motion, the message is for
all of us to handle unexpected changes, both external and internal.
Breakthroughs go through a process of disarray before any liberation
may be attained.
For the meantime, Mercury is harmoniously
communicating with Jupiter and Neptune, a good time to expand
spiritual awareness and our personal philosophies. On the other hand
Venus, the planet of love and material comfort, is squarely in
disagreement with Neptune and Jupiter. The challenge here is for all
of us to get REAL, to know the difference between false beauty - a
yearning, and what are the economic obligations we face now. Self
discipline and a commitment to question unreasonable ideas is the
way to self-mastery. We don’t stop there… Mercury and Uranus, also
in square aspect, bring excessive and disruptive news creating
terrific tension and uncertainties on many levels and from many far
away places. Religions, spiritual beliefs, and the LAW will be on
front pages of the news.
July 4th Happy Independence Day. Let’s
celebrate as proud Americans used to. Just be cautious when
discussing philosophical views and act responsibly. Mercury and
Pluto in opposition aspect may bring some sad and rather
unforgettable news. BE VERY CAREFUL!
On July 7th, a full moon in Capricorn will
be Penumbral Lunar Eclipse; and July 21st , a Total Solar
Eclipse. (Watch for the Lunar Insight Column), and,
Keep Sharing the Light!
A “Saturn in Libra Transit
Workshop” is being scheduled for the month of July.

They
both seek to transcend emotion and
petty thinking to perfect themselves and to live their lives in
deepest truth.
The
way of a warrior and a spiritual practitioner utilizes awareness,
concentration and reflex, but the expression will be determined.
Outside the arena of competition, they leave behind competitive
aggression and never forget
to
